At Taunton Vale CC, on the afternoon of Thursday 15 August 2019, Somerset Seniors (together with a few guest players) took part in a Charity Cricket Match organised by their chairman, Brian Pearson, to celebrate his 70th birthday.

Brian and his wife (Dr Althea Pearson) have hosted similar events on the occasion of Brian’s 50th and 60th birthday, raising funds for various charities.

The toss: with L to R
Chris Norton (umpire)
Roger Lines (Over 70s captain)
Brian Pearson (Chairman)
Steve Pursey (Over 60s 2nd XI captain)
Brian Brogden (over 60s 1st XI Team Manager)
Richard Allen (umpire)

This year the nominated beneficiaries were Somerset Disabled CC and Somerton-based ACEarts – whose work includes facilitating art workshops for residents in care homes and those with learning disabilities.

This years match saw a whopping £1000 raised.

A massive congratulations to Brian and his wife and all the other volunteers who organise this event.  A huge thank you to all those who donated and contributed towards this amazing total.
