On Sunday 18th August, 8 teams featuring some of the regions finest young players will be competing across the 4 pitches at Uphill Castle CC & Weston Super Mare CC, which are situated a mere 100 yards apart for the Somerset Vitality U19T20 title.
The format will see 8 teams battle it out in 15 over quarter finals with the victors going on to contest the semi-finals with the winners of those matches making it through to the final.
The Quarter Finals begin at 10am with 2 time defending champions the Bridgwater Red Sox’s who saw off Perrott Monkeys on a bowl out to reach finals day take on Keynsham Knight Riders who entered the competition for the first time this summer and have won all their group games on route to Finals Day. This game will take place on the main pitch at Uphill Castle CC and on the 2nd pitch the Clevedon Coast Busters take on two time runners up “The Saints” of Taunton St Andrews.
The Quarter Finals at Weston-super-Mare CC will the winners in 2015 & 2016 Deane Diamonds take on the hosts Weston-super-Kings with both teams unbeaten so far. The last Quarter Final on the 2nd pitch at Weston-super-Mare will see Yeovil Whirlwinds who lost in the Semi-Finals last year take on the Hinton Hornets who make their debut at Finals Day.
The Semi Finals will start at around 12.15pm with the U19T20 Final at 3pm
As well as the exciting cricket action there will also be all manner of other elements to the day including: music, interactive crowd competitions, cricketing activities, bars, food outlets, match-day programme, and give-aways.
Entry is free and whilst there is parking at both grounds this is limited so there is additional parking available at Broadoak School which is less than a 5 minute walk from both grounds.
