Somerset Cricket Foundation, in partnership with Bradfords, are excited to announce the return of the Bradfords Community Festivals for 2023!
Building on the success of the festivals in 2022, we are pleased to announce that festivals will be taking place at over 20 locations across the county, including 11 new clubs hosting festivals this year.
The Bradfords Community Festivals provide an 8-aside soft ball cricket format for junior cricket teams across Somerset. The festivals are a great opportunity for both all-stars and dynamos graduates, and those newer to cricket, to practice, refine and challenge their skills in a friendly and sociable environment.
The local festivals will build up to the Bradfords Community Cup, held at The Cooper Associates County Ground on Sunday 30 July 2023. Paul Malloy, Head of Marketing at Bradfords said:
“Bradfords, in partnership with the Somerset Cricket Foundation, are delighted to be able to continue to build on the shared solid foundations of supporting grass roots cricket in our local communities.
Championing local cricket clubs via the Community Festivals and Cup is very important to Bradfords and aligns closely with our core values. It is a means to delivering a much wider positive social impact, as it helps young people of all ages to lead healthier lives, to develop new skills and to engage further within their local communities”.
Ben Osborne, Club and League Development Officer at Somerset Cricket Foundation said:
“Somerset Cricket Foundation are really excited to be working with Bradfords, to deliver the Bradfords Community Festivals and Cup again in 2023. The festivals provide a brilliant opportunity for children at under 9s and under 11s age-groups across Somerset to get involved and develop their skills in a fun environment.
We would really like to thank all of our local clubs that have volunteered to host festivals this year and I look forward to supporting them to deliver the festivals. We must also thank Somerset CCC for their support and can’t wait to welcome lots of teams to the Cooper Associates County Ground in July. ”.
