Looking back over the 2025 season, Somerset Cricket Foundation celebrated volunteers from across the County, and their contribution to Club Cricket. The Cricket Collective Awards, running in its 4 year was attended by over 140 hard working and dedicated volunteers, who all play an important part in ensuring that the recreational game continues to thrive in the South West.

Held in the County Room at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Managing Director Maralyn Smith was joined by Board Chair Jayne Mee, to thank the volunteers for their hard work across the season, and recognised their contributions to the sport.

We were joined by special guests Sophie Luff and Mollie Robbins of Somerset Women, who entertained the guests with a talk and Q&A with compere Spencer Bishop. Both have a fantastic understanding of the work that Somerset Cricket Foundation do in the community, with Sophie having been a community coach for Somerset Cricket Board a few years ago, and Mollie having played club cricket for Hanham CC this season when the professional schedule allowed.

We were delighted to be able to thank a fantastic group of volunteers who go and above and beyond throughout the year to better others cricketing experience and make cricket a game for all. We would like to thank all of our volunteers across our network, who give up their time to clubs and leagues, because without them, cricket simply wouldn’t exist at such a thriving level in Somerset as it currently does.
