The Somerset Cricket Grounds Association have 3 County Pitch Advisor to help support clubs with their grounds: Phil Mortimer, Mark Joliffe & Alex Woodward.
We are very fortunate to be able to be able to offer 20 half priced pitch advisor PitchPower Ground assessments during the season for any club who are interested in improving their pitches or are experiencing any ground/pitch issues. Post visit you will receive a bespoke assessment report with expert grass pitch maintenance (Square and Outfield) advice and recommendations to help develop your ground.
The subsidised assessment costs £75 and to book one of the 20 available please complete the attached pre-visit form and return it to Matt.

The Cricket Collective Learning Hub
A brand new digital platform to house tools and resources for the recreational game. The Learning Hub includes guides on how to recruit and support volunteers, answers FAQs on topics from governance and policies, to playing offers and facilities, plus a range of helpful videos. There is a volunteer matrix so you can assign roles and fill any gaps, how-to guides and action planners for recruiting volunteers from your existing membership, and role profile templates to easily promote vacant positions. There is also guidance on communicating effectively with your members, building welcoming and inclusive clubs, and creating a positive environment where players, volunteers, and members will look forward to spending their summer, as well as much more.

Final County Grants Window – Opens 1st July

Key Updates:
- More Specific Team Categories: Clubs can now choose from detailed team types (e.g., Boys Junior Hardball, Women’s Softball) instead of broad ones, allowing for more accurate representation.
- Dynamos Cricket Added: Dynamos Cricket joins All Stars as a National Programme option, affecting Activator requirements for clubs running these programmes.
- Simplified Updates: A new toggle lets clubs update Teams & Programmes directly, making the process faster and more user-friendly.
- Relevant Compliance Rules: Clubs will now only see compliance rules that apply to their specific teams and programmes, reducing confusion.
- In-Platform Help: Step-by-step guidance, tooltips, and timely notifications will support users with tasks like onboarding and compliance checks.

Players must meet two of the following four criteria:
- Born in Somerset
- Lives in Somerset
- Goes to school in Somerset
- Plays for a club in Somerset
- Players cannot play for another county
- Players must fall into the following age groups from 1st September 2024:
Girls – Under 9 (Year 4) to Under 18 (Year 13)
Boys – Under 9 (Year 4) to Under 18 (Year 13)
