Adult Cup Competitions

Our flagship Knock Out Cup competition is designed to give all clubs, no matter what standard they play, the opportunity to run out on the Coopers Associates County Ground, we are also proud to support our teams competing in the Baker Cup and the National Village Cup.

We’re delighted to announce the flagship Somerset Cricket Foundation KO Cup Competitions launches for 2023 to the club network, in partnership with Somerset County Sports. The introduction of new competition branding, coloured clothing & pink ball usage for the Major Cup in 2022 was a great success and the finals are once again being played at The Copper Associates County Ground, Taunton.

Somerset County Sports have been a trusted partner with the Board/Foundation spanning many years, the local providers of cricket equipment and club merchandise, enter their second year as premier partner to Somerset Cricket Foundation.

Somerset Cricket Foundation Managing Director, Jon Bendle commented on the partnership by saying “Securing the ongoing support from Somerset County Sports as our main partner for the Cup Competitions is terrific. They are big supporters and providers for the recreational game here in Somerset, and we look forward to working with them closely.”

In 2022 63 clubs and 90 teams participated in the competition, and finals day was live streamed again with great support from the around the world, a strong indication of how popular and well supported our cup competitions are. “SCS supported the Cricket Board for many years and are now happy to support the Foundation in supporting all three Cup competitions” said Richard Brice, owner of SCS.

Since 1972, The Cricketer administered the Voneus Village Cup has been inextricably linked with the English summer. Each year around 300 clubs from villages across the British Isles battle for the chance to play in the final at Lord’s, the home of cricket. No other sport offers this opportunity to the grassroots level of their game where even the smallest village team can ‘live the dream’ and tread the same hallowed turf as England skipper Joe Root and co.
