Senior representative teams

Somerset seniors cricket provides the opportunity for those who, while progressing in years, have lost none of their enthusiasm for the game. We have two over-50s teams, three over-60s teams, and one over-70s team . The 1st teams of both the 50s & 60s have often reached the latter stages of their national inter-county competitions.

More about seniors cricket

Continuing to play cricket at a reasonable standard is not only enjoyable and fulfilling, it provides the opportunity to maintain valued friendships with colleagues as well as opponents alongside whom we have progressed through the age groups. And, of course, there is the added value in having regular exercise – even if some of the knocks and strains can take a little longer to repair these days!

Our seniors team benefit greatly from the generosity of clubs around Somerset who make their facilities available to host matches, preparing good wickets and delivering a high standard of catering.

By running more than just one side at each age level, we are able to offer games to a broad range of playing abilities and we have seen how even the most seasoned player can develop and improve given the opportunity to keep playing regularly.

How to get involved

We are always pleased to hear from those who may be wondering about the future of their involvement in cricket and warmly welcome those who might consider continuing to participate in the game and to defer ‘hanging up their boots’ for a while longer.
