Somerset Cricket Foundation are pleased to announce that Jayne Mee, who recently joined the board, has at the recent AGM of the Foundation been elected chair elect and will take over the chair role on September 1st.
Jayne, who lives just outside Bath, is a lifelong cricket enthusiast, and after a successful executive career in senior HR positions has latterly focussed on non-executive positions as chair, non-exec director and trustee. Her most recent chair role was at University Hospitals and Weston NHS Foundation Trust and she is currently a trustee at NHS Charities Together as well as Prior Park Schools in Bath and Gibraltar.
Commenting on her appointment outgoing chair Winston Duguid said:
I am delighted that Jayne will be taking over as chair from September. Jayne brings a love of cricket, experience of being a chair, charity trustee and volunteer, and a real insight into the relationship of physical activity and mental wellbeing, and how sport in general and cricket in particular, can be such an important part in improving people’s lives and outcomes. She also has considerable experience of combining the needs of different stakeholders and in the SCF environment understands well the needs of employees, volunteers, clubs, schools, diverse communities and fundraising partners. With Jayne the Foundation will be in good leadership hands as it enters the next exciting phase of its journey.
Jayne commented:
I am delighted to be appointed Chair of Somerset Cricket Foundation. I am looking forward to working with the board, Maralyn Smith our new MD, and the wonderful team who do an amazing job in improving health outcomes, accessibility and inclusion, through the game of cricket.
I am excited about what more we can achieve with Somerset County Cricket Club, our partners, sponsors and volunteers in future, together we can make a huge difference to our communities.
