The ECB are helping tackle food poverty in the UK through the Cricket Tea-A-Thon, in partnership with a UK leading food poverty charity, The Trussell Trust.
Why the ECB and the Trussell Trust are working together?
Following the launch of the ECB’s Together Through This Test initiative, we have been inspired by the heroic efforts of the cricket community in response to the pandemic, and are looking at different ways cricket can connect communities and support those in need at this incredibly difficult time.
The ECB have teamed up with the Trussell Trust, a leading UK food poverty charity, to provide an off the shelf solution for clubs and community groups to support a much-needed resource across society, food.
Food and cricket fit hand in hand, and while the season has been affected, the cricket family can still play a vital role in supporting those areas of the community most in need.

What is the Cricket Tea-A-Thon?
The Cricket Tea-A-Thon encourages cricket clubs and community groups across England and Wales to register and become food collection points, donating goods to their local Trussell Trust food bank.
Donating items that you would have used to make your weekly cricket teas, including tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit juice as well as items such cereal, toiletries and baby supplies will support some of the most vulnerable families in our local communities.
To mark this initiative, the ECB will be celebrating everything that is great about cricket and food, by hosting a virtual cricket tea event at ‘tea’ on day two of the second Test against the West Indies to get clubs, volunteers and families across England and Wales sharing their own cricket tea and donating products to their local clubs.
