Super 1’s is a programme funded through the Lord Taverners and provides young people with a disability aged 12-25 an opportunity to engage with cricket.

Super 1s launched in Somerset in January 2019 and we now have a club in each local authority area; BATH, BRIDGWATER, STREET, TAUNTON, WESTON SUPER MARE & YEOVIL.  We have registered over 100 young people who have attended a Super 1 session this year.

Super 1s not only offers young people a safe environment to be active, but it also develops and nurtures key personal social skills such as confidence, communication and independence.    Here is a comment from one of our parents, that is replicated across all six hubs

Usually he is very quick to give up if he cannot do something after a couple of attempts,  but with the encouragement from the coaches and the other young people and parents he  keeps trying. This is the first time that his mum has been able to sit and watch on the side line with the other parents
