Somerset Cricket Foundation have recently expanding their Community Coach team with the appointment of Josie Cherson.

Josie will become the community coach for north west Somerset and will deliver across a number of programmes. Although the main focus of her delivery will be in primary schools through the Chance to Shine programme she will also deliver in secondary and Special Education Needs schools as well as on the Super 1’s programme and many of the foundations other community based activities.

Josie played age group cricket for Somerset from U15s to U19s, and currently plays at Bridgwater CC having previously played at Bath and Congresbury. She has been coaching for several years having started helping her dad coach the junior age groups at Congresbury. On her appointment Josie said,

“I cannot wait to get started. I love seeing players develop and am most looking forward to inspiring children and people to play cricket”.

Schools and Coaching Manager Scott Chappell is pleased with the appointment; “we have an incredible team of community coaches in Somerset, which Josie will fit into perfectly. Her appointment will enable us to reach more people and give them the opportunity to play our great game”.
