On Saturday 10th June the Maqbool Cricket team played a 20/20 Social fixture versus King’s College Taunton 4th XI at the picturesque Independent school.

It was an actioned packed game played in the true spirit of cricket. The Maqbool team batted first and posted a creditable 143 all out off their 20 overs with useful contributions from Saleem 34, YarGul 28 and Aziz 17. King’s with their dynamic batting line up knocked off the runs in the 19th over and won by 4 wickets. Skipper Archie won the game with a fabulous 6 and also reached his 50.

Somerset Cricket Foundation would like to thank King’s College Director of Cricket Rob Woodman for hosting us and a special thanks to Coach Ed Lewsey for his support with the fixture.  We were delighted that Head of School Mr Sloan came over to watch.

After the match the Maqbool group adjourned to nearby Taunton Deane Cricket Club and took in some action at the Convent Field whilst tucking in to a post match meal.
