🔥How does Ignite work?
The ECB is working with Metro Bank to support the growth of girls cricket, and Ignite focuses on supporting volunteers to ensure that girls cricket is sustainable. Whether you have an established girls section, or are just starting one, we can offer support in your own club environment and spend up to an hour upskilling your volunteers, ideally working with groups of 10 volunteers at a time.
From the first steps of starting a girls section, to helping with coaching sessions, umpiring or scoring, we’ll help your volunteers to Get Involved!
🤔Do you have volunteers asking?
• What skills do I have and how can I get involved?
• How can I volunteer at coaching sessions and match days?
• Where can I learn more about cricket and volunteering?
Our development team can support with
- setting up a new girls section
- getting volunteers confident to run warm ups
- getting volunteers confident to help during coaching sessions
- getting volunteers confident to umpire
- getting volunteers confident to score
- the coaching skills needed to help transition players from softball cricket to hardball cricket
Once you have completed the application form we will review your needs, and if successful we’ll be in touch to discuss how to structure your support, what we can deliver and when we can deliver it. After delivery, we’ll follow up with you to see how your volunteers are getting on!
📅Make sure to submit your application before 21 April!
