EXTRACOVER INSURANCE APPOINTED AS PREFERRED INSURANCE PARTNER OF THE SOMERSET CRICKET BOARD

ExtraCover Insurance, the only cricket club insurance product approved and endorsed by the ECB, run by Yorkshire based brokers Marshall Wooldridge, has signed an agreement with the Somerset Cricket Board to be their preferred insurance partner.

The Somerset Cricket Board will provide ExtraCover Insurance with a series of measures through logo placement, email communications, face to face meetings and direct promotions to ensure that each of its clubs has access to professional insurance advice as well as being able to speak with the ExtraCover Insurance team to find the right level of insurance cover for their clubs.

Mark Dearden of ExtraCover Insurance, attended the club roadshow event at The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton, to announce the agreement to the clubs.

Speaking about the agreement Mark Dearden, Sports Development Manager for ExtraCover Insurance said:
“We’re delighted to be able to support the Somerset Cricket Board, a county which has a proud tradition of cricket and has had some of the best players in the world represent the County Club.

Between ExtraCover Insurance and the Somerset Cricket Board, we aim to offer all clubs the opportunity to receive professional advice on how to best insure their cricket clubs. We welcome calls and emails from clubs about making sure they have an appropriate level of insurance cover.”

Commenting on behalf of the Somerset Cricket Board, Executive Director, Andy Fairbairn said:

“We were very keen to forge a closer relationship with Extra Cover to offer additional support for our clubs regarding their insurance needs.

A rise in break-ins and thefts was one of the triggers for us to try and raise the profile of adequate insurance for clubs as well as the increased need to insure all players, members and the general public.

ExtraCover Insurance were very receptive to the idea of working together and they already have a strong presence in Somerset with over 61 clubs using them already.

We’re looking forward to working together and helping cricket clubs to get appropriate cover at a very competitive price.”
