Our education programme this winter provides opportunities for all of our coaches, volunteers and officials, to gain certifications and develop their skills and knowledge.

The coach education pathway courses are aimed at meeting the needs of the player and equipping coaches with the skills they require to coach in clubs, schools and performance environments. If you are a current or aspiring coach we have a range of courses running across the county to fit your needs.

The ECB  Cricket Activator courses are aimed at those just starting in coaching, giving candidates a basic understanding of coaching cricket to young people. These one-day certificated courses are a fantastic introduction to coaching and encouraging participation.

These include the new Foundation Stage One course. This course has been designed to give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to coach cricket sessions that are active, purposeful, enjoyable and safe. An ECB Foundation One Coach will be qualified to lead coaching sessions independently and without supervision.

For the more committed coach, the ECB’s Coaching Children course provides those who are already coaching at clubs, the opportunity to gain a more advanced cricket qualification. The qualification will help you to make a real difference to the development of the players you coach at your club.

In addition to these exciting opportunities for coaches we are running qualifications for Umpires and Scorers. If you have stopped playing cricket and want to stay involved in the game, then these courses offer both a qualification and the skills which will help benefit your club and the game of cricket.

Club Welfare Officers have a vital role to play in cricket clubs. Our Safe Hands Workshops and Safe Hands Refresher courses, available at various venues around the county, ensure that they can access the training required to fulfil this role.

Finally, we are holding courses to make sure that your current qualifications stay in date.

If your First Aid, Child Protection or Safeguarding certificates have expired, then please take this opportunity to update your qualifications with the SCB.
