Cleeve CC overcame Long Sutton CC by 40 runs in the Intermediate Cup final held at the Coopers Associates County Ground.
Being asked to bat first, Mitch Want (35) and Sam Williams built the total steadily until Williams departed, and although no one pushed on to a big total the middle order made good enough starts for Cleeve CC to post 134/9. Edward Sparrow and Edgar Herridge were the pick of the bowlers taking 3-a-piece.
Glenn Lewin returned figures of 4-1-10-1 and the Cleeve bowlers started as they meant to go on, limiting opportunity to hit runs. Wickets were shared around with James Cole finishing with 3. Some late runs from Ollie Phillips (17) and Edgar Herridge (15) wasn’t enough and Long Sutton were bowled out for 94 in the 19th over.
Player of the Match was awarded to Glenn Lewin.
