We are very lucky to have two amazing inclusive County teams; Somerset Disabled Cricket Club and Somerset Visually Impaired Cricket Club.  Both clubs are supported by a group of brilliant volunteers who give their time and energy to support the running of the teams.

This year Somerset Disabled Cricket Club were keen to develop a second team.  This team was to be known as Somerset Dragons.

The Dragons team was strategically developed to support the inception of the Lord Taverners Super 1 programme that Somerset Cricket Board launched in January.

With Super 1’s offering free weekly cricket to young people with a disability aged 12-15, it was a great foundation to build interest and passion for the game before suggesting they joined the Dragons Team!

We now find ourselves in the position of having 10-14 players available for the Dragons Team!  We have already played two competitive fixtures against Gloucestershire and despite losing both, the players and supporters have now found a new passion!

We are very excited about the growth of the Dragons team and look forward to hopefully entering the Development Super 9 league in 2020.
