Somerset County Cricket Club legend James Hildreth has become an ambassador for Somerset Cricket Foundation.
Hildreth, who spent his entire playing career at Somerset playing more than 700 matches and scoring in excess of 27,000 runs across all formats, including 46 hundreds, has recently added his support and commitment to the Foundation and the wide ranging activities it delivers.
Managing Director of the Foundation, Jon Bendle commented, “Having James join us as an ambassador is hugely exciting and we look forward to having him supporting our charity. He’s been a hugely influential character both on and off the pitch for Somerset, and is profoundly respected within the game and much loved by the Somerset supporters.”
The role will see James support the over-arching aims of the Foundation of enriching peoples lives through cricket across all communities.
Commenting on the role Hildreth said, “I’m delighted to support the Foundation and I recognise the immense impact and reach it has across our communities here in Somerset. The team at the Foundation does an incredible job, and I’m excited to become involved and support the great work they do.”
