Former Chairman of the North Somerset Youth Cricket League Stewart Dewer, was finally presented with his Decanter and Glasses by Somerset County Cricket Club CEO Andrew Cornish for his outstanding service to the league and grass roots cricket.
Officers of NSYCL and that of Stewart’s former club Congresbury, who are celebrating their 175th Anniversary, were hosted by Somerset Cricket Board to Day Two of the Ladies England versus Australia Ashes Game.
His dedication and hard work has ensured that there are competitive cricket opportunities for children from aged 9 to 17 years in the North Somerset area which 1000’s have benefitted from including Somerset’s Peter Trego and England’s Jos Buttler.
Without the efforts of Stewart and many other volunteers the Grassroots game simply function.
Unfortunately at lunch the rain cut short the days play but those attending the presentation managed to enjoy sharing memories and catching up during a two course meal at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
