On June the 1st six young people from our three Street Cricket hubs, which is funded through Chance 2 Shine, took part in a regional Street Cricket competition at the City Academy, Bristol.   Our mixed team from Yeovil and Bridgwater faced stiff competition from the Street Cricket programme in Wiltshire.  Despite some amazing performances, Wiltshire eventually came out on top winning 2 out of 3 games.   The day was an amazing experience becasue for most this was their first experience of being in a cricket match!

Somerset Cricket Foundation feel that every child, no matter where they live, should have the opportunity to play cricket. The majority of Street Cricket participants do not belong to a traditional cricket club.  Recently a number of those involved travelled to Gloucestershire to take part in a regional Street Cricket competition, for many this was their first tase of competitive cricket.
