Today saw the inaugural School SEND Softball Cricket Festival delivered by Somerset Cricket Foundation in partnership with Ravenswood School.
The festival featured a knockout softball cricket competition, bringing together young people for a day of inclusive sport, teamwork and enjoyment. Throughout the event, pupils demonstrated excellent enthusiasm, determination and sportsmanship, making the festival a huge success.
All of the children involved had an amazing time, enjoying the opportunity to take part in a format of cricket adapted to meet their individual needs and abilities.
The eventual winning team will now progress to the South West Regional Final, which will take place on 16th June at Wembdon Cricket Club, where they will represent Somerset against other regional qualifiers.
The festival formed part of Somerset Cricket Foundation’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive cricket opportunities for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Support from Lord’s Taverners enables Somerset Cricket Foundation to deliver high-quality, differentiated formats of cricket that ensure all young people can access, enjoy and benefit from the game.
