This week saw the inaugural Southwest Super 1 festival hosted at the Cooper Associates County Ground, bringing together players from projects across the peninsula, from Gloucestershire, Devon, Dorset and Somerset. In total, just over 40 young people got the chance to try a variety of cricket activities as well some interview training from Somerset CCC Media Officer, Spencer Bishop and an opportunity to partake in a pitch side recorded interview with Somerset CCC Head of Digital Content and Videography Will Martin.
The cricket activities were run by Somerset Cricket Foundation and supported by Somerset CCC cricketers, Will Smeed, Jack Leach, Andy Umeed and Ned Leonard.

“It was an amazing day. To see so many smiles and to hear so much chatter and laughter, I knew everyone was having a great time!”

“It was great to interview Jack Leach, he’s my favourite player. I can’t believe I got to speak to him today!”
