It was a fantastic day of cricket at the City Academy in Bristol for the Street Cricket Regional Competitio , with players and parents coming together to create a supportive and energetic atmosphere throughout. Teams in attendance were Somerset x 2, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. Across seven matches, the team secured a couple of wins and a draw in the final fixture. It was an impressive effort that reflected steady improvement from game to game.
While the individual scores are noted here, the quality of cricket on display spoke for itself. Each match showed growing confidence, better teamwork, and a clear commitment to developing skills.
One of the standout aspects of the day was the team’s attitude. Coaches and staff from other counties noted how supportive the players were, not just of each other, but also of their opponents. The conversations during breaks, focused on learning and improving, highlighted a strong mindset and a real passion for the game.
There were plenty of individual highlights as well. Hayden delivered a brilliant moment with a catch off her own bowling, Charlie impressed with sharp wicket keeping, Isha maintained consistent bowling throughout, and Jasper capped off the day with a superb six in the final match.
Most importantly, every player should be proud. The improvement in bowling across the day was particularly noticeable, showing how hard work and focus can pay off even within a short time.
A great day all around and plenty to build on for the future.
