HARDBALL LEAGUES
WEPL
The Women’s West of England Premier League (WEPL) has become the ‘top tier’ of Women’s Club Cricket in the region. Nine clubs from across Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire have agreed to merge with WEPL to form only the second Women’s Premier cricket league in the country. The 40-over league, featuring the use of pink balls and coloured clothing.
SOFTBALL LEAGUES
SOFTBALL PAIRS
There are three divisions playing the pairs format in 2025, the Gibson, Jones and Filer Divisions. This format is a great way to Introduce Women’s Cricket to your club. The Clubs that play in these divisions understand the fun, friendly competitive side of Cricket. The game is played with a softer ball (hard foam centre), so it means no pads, helmets etc are required! The rules are very simple and designed to get every team member involved! In your team of eight, each pair bat for four overs (12 balls) and if you’re given out the bowling team get given 5 runs, but you remain in! Ideally each player in your team will bowl.

brown & brown 100
The Hundred saw Women and girls come together from across the county to form 3 teams – Somerset Scorchers, Somerset Sixers, and Somerset Strikers. Women from across Somerset come together to form three new hardball squads each season, playing in 3 tournaments plus a final.
HARDBALL & SOFTBALL KNOCKOUT CUPS
Played in a knockout format, these these competitions are T16 or T20 and the 8-11 aside teams have a cut off play date for their fixture. These competitions will follow the Softball T20 rules and there will be a finals day for the two competitions.
brown & brown softball festivals
In partnership with award-winning insurance broker Brown & Brown, these festivals will host 5-6 different Womens teams across four venues, with playing kit, playing a shortened format of the game. T20 and pairs festivals, hosted by cricket clubs with the aim of enjoying playing in addition to league matches.
INDOOR cricket league
This is a 6 aside indoor format, with 5 leagues across the county. These are played preseason and over the winter, by facilitating these leagues, it allows Women to have the opportunity to keep playing, whilst playing a different format of cricket. This is a fun, fast paced take on the game.
