Across the six Vitality Blast T20 home fixtures this season, a total of 24 Super 1s disability cricket participants will be volunteering as part of the Somerset Cricket Foundation matchday activation team at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
The volunteers will play an important role on matchdays, helping to welcome supporters as they enter the ground and assisting with the exciting Scatter Blast t-shirt throws throughout the games.
The opportunity provides valuable real-world experience and supports the development of lifelong skills including communication, confidence, teamwork and resilience. For many of the Super 1s participants involved, this will be their first major volunteering experience and an important step towards future aspirations and employment opportunities.
Super 1s is a community cricket programme designed to give young people aged 12 – 25 with disabilities the chance to play cricket regularly, develop new skills and build confidence in a fun and inclusive environment. There a seven free sessions weekly across the County to join.
The Somerset Cricket Foundation is proud to provide opportunities such as these, helping participants to gain new experiences both on and off the field.
