Winning the toss, Somerset elected to bat first and got off to a positive start, with openers Oli and Jacob building an excellent partnership. The pair put on 67 for the first wicket, with Oli contributing a quick 40 from 37 balls, including eight boundaries, before being dismissed.

Jacob continued to anchor the innings and reached a well-deserved half-century, scoring 50 from 77 balls with eight fours. Despite steady contributions throughout the middle order, Gloucestershire’s bowlers kept taking regular wickets and restricted Somerset’s progress. Late runs from Charlie (24) and contributions from Joe (13) helped Somerset reach a competitive total of 169 all out from 35.1 overs.

In reply, Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation began their chase steadily. Somerset’s bowlers continued to apply pressure, with James producing an excellent spell of 3 wickets for 21 runs from 8 overs, while captain Jack also contributed with 2 wickets for 31 runs.

Gloucestershire’s innings was built around a match-winning knock from captain Paul, who remained unbeaten on 50 from 64 balls, including five boundaries. Supported by contributions from Andrew (25), Oliver (17), and Henry (17), Gloucestershire reached their target with four wickets remaining, finishing on 170-6 from 38.2 overs.

Although Somerset were narrowly beaten, there were many positives to take from the performance, including strong batting partnerships, disciplined bowling spells, and a committed team effort throughout the match.
