Somerset Disabled CC S9 with Comfortable Victory
Somerset Disabled CC S9 made it two wins from two in the Southwest Super 9 league Cricket League over Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation, with an eight-wicket victory at Stroud Cricket Club on Sunday.
After losing the toss and being asked to field, Somerset produced a disciplined bowling display to restrict the home side to 142-5 from their 30 overs. Gloucestershire’s total was built around an unbeaten 35 from David and 27 not out from Reuben, but the Somerset attack kept taking wickets at key moments.
Cameron was the standout bowler, claiming 2-19 from his six overs, including the crucial wickets of Eli and Charlie . Paul (1-16) and Tom (1-23) also impressed, while the fielding remained sharp throughout, with Tom Haddell adding a run out to Somerset’s efforts.
Although Gloucestershire benefited from a large number of extras, Somerset’s bowlers ensured the target remained well within reach.
In reply, Somerset reached 144-2 in just 26 overs. Kris anchored the innings superbly with an unbeaten 35, while Alex provided excellent support with 23 not out as the pair guided the visitors home after the early loss of Wilf .
Captain Paul chipped in with six before falling to James , but there were few alarms as Somerset controlled the chase. Gloucestershire’s bowlers struggled for consistency, conceding 80 extras, allowing Somerset to complete a comfortable victory with four overs to spare.
The win earns Somerset the maximum 30 league points and continues their good season in the 2026 South West Super 9 League.
