ECB SUPPORT COACH

Inspire and develop players

The ECB Support Coach course is designed to make taking your first steps onto the coaching pathway fun, interesting and engaging and enables candidates to make a real difference to their club and community. An ECB Support Coach is not qualified to lead coaching sessions independently and therefore must be supervised by a qualified cricket coach.

PROGRAMME DESCRIPTOR

This programme has been designed to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support qualified coaches and enhance player experience and covers key themes like:

  • Supporting coaches and players
  • Using icoachcricket
  • Communicating with coaches and players
  • Supporting fielding, bowling and batting
  • Safety
  • Differentiation

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

3 hours face to face in a single module

1 hour e-learning split between two modules

TO ACHIEVE CERTIFICATIONS, LEARNERS MUST:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Hold a valid ECB Disclosure and Barring Service check
  • Hold a valid ECB safeguarding training e.g. Safeguarding for Coaches & Activators
  • Successfully complete the online multiple choice question paper achieving 90%

COST & BURSARIES

£40

A bursary can be awarded to learners that register on the ECB Support Coach programme between 1st February 2024 and 31st January 2025. Bursaries are available to the potential coaches that are female, from ethnically diverse communities, have a disability or are experiencing financial hardship. WEPL, SCL, T&DYCL AND NSYCL also offer bursaries to clubs qualifying new coaches.
